Approximately 50 graduate students and local teachers attended a workshop on assessment and universal design for learning (UDL) at Molloy College led by Dr. Joseph Casbarro, presented by Comprehensive School Solutions, the new professional development and training division of National Professional Resources (NPR, Inc.).
The workshop included a presentation on strategies for reducing students’ test anxiety and improving their performance. Dr. Casbarro, a psychologist and former school administrator, drew from his book Test Anxiety and What You Can Do About It and his guide Test Anxiety: Strategies to Improve Student Performance. Attendees also learned about frameworks that support universal design for learning (UDL) and participated in an engaging roundtable discussion with Dr. Casbarro on these topics.
Dr. Casbarro is one of over two dozen education experts available for booking by schools and organizations through CSS. He is the author of the book Test Anxiety and What You Can Do About It, as well as laminated reference guides on test anxiety and test preparation, Response to Intervention (RTI), and universal design for learning (UDL), is a former school administrator, and the current chief operating officer for National Professional Resources.
